Saturday Science: Home Edition - Spring 2022
Join us this month for the return of Saturday Science: Home Edition! Just like last year, Saturday Science is bringing the science to you, providing the students in your life with kits of fun neuroscience activities you can do together at home!
What’s in each kit?
Each kit comes in a reusable drawstring bag and contains three engaging activities: Test Your Touch, Synapse Toss, and Sneaky Senses. They also include hand sanitizer and a few other goodies! Content is geared toward older elementary and middle school students, but learners of all ages are welcome.
How do I get a kit?
This season, we’ve collaborated with community centers to increase access to our supplies. Many kits have been allocated to local classrooms, so check to see if your student’s school has received any!
We are also working with local libraries to distribute kits. Check out the following list to find a location closest to you!
- Washington Heights Library (1000 St. Nicholas Ave.)
- Countee Cullen Library (104 W 136th St.)
- George Bruce Library (518 W 125th St.)
- Harlem Library (9 W 124th St.)
- Morningside Heights Library (2900 Broadway)
- Aguilar Library (174 E 110th St.)
How are the activities completed?
Easy-to-follow instructions are included in each kit, but you can also check out our YouTube page to find instructional videos made by real Columbia neuroscientists! Head to the bottom of this page to find links to each one, and follow along whenever works for you.
Need another copy of your instruction sheet?

Although we won’t have a live zoom session this season, the pre-recorded activity instructional videos are just as engaging. We are planning the in-person return of Saturday Science at Columbia’s campus later this spring. Please stay tuned for more details soon!
